How the Heat Score works
TrailSense estimates working conditions from air temperature, actual water-vapor pressure, cloud cover and a limited wind adjustment. Session intensity and duration are then added to the score.
Heat Score = T + 1.4 × (e − 0.30) + sun − wind + session load
Air temperatures above 13 °C are never rated as good. This is a practical decision-support model, not a scientifically validated safety guarantee. Always monitor individual dogs and actual workload.
